Ventura Surf Girlies is a women-led surf school built for the woman who has always wanted to surf but has not known how to start. Private and small-group lessons with gear included, taught by women at beginner-friendly Ventura beaches. No experience, no gear, and no surf buddy needed.

Founded by Madi in Ventura, VSG started as a community for women who wanted to try surfing without the pressure. Our lessons follow the same idea: patient coaching, small groups, and a pace set by you.
Everyone is welcome at every lesson, and the prices are the same for all. Lessons usually meet at Mondo’s Beach in Ventura, a mellow beginner-friendly spot; your instructor may pick a different beach depending on conditions and tides.
Soft-top surfboards, leashes, and wetsuits are included with every lesson, so you can try surfing before investing in your own gear.

Personalized one-on-one coaching designed around your comfort level, goals, and pace. The best choice if you want undivided attention for your first paddle out.
Bring your friends
2–4 surfers total · 90 minutes · one person pays for the group
Learn together with your own friends, sisters, or family. One person pays for the group. Two surfers: $250 by card or Venmo, $240 by Zelle. Three surfers: $345 by card or Venmo, $330 by Zelle. Four surfers: $460 by card or Venmo, $440 by Zelle.

Sign up solo and we’ll pair you with two or three other women at a similar level, based on availability and experience. A coached session plus new surf buddies, without committing to a four-week program.
Soft-top surfboards, leashes, and wetsuits are included with lessons. Lessons usually meet at Mondo’s Beach in Ventura; your instructor may pick a different spot depending on conditions and tides.
SURF SISTERS · FOUR-WEEK PROGRAM · NEXT ROUND STARTS WEEK OF NOVEMBER 9
Four weeks, one consistent crew.
Sign up solo and we’ll match you with two women with similar availability, experience, and goals. Your 90-minute lesson meets on the same day and time during four instructional weeks: the weeks of November 9, November 16, November 30, and December 7. There are no lessons Thanksgiving week (November 23–29). Get to know your crew, practice together between lessons, and build friendships that help you keep paddling out after the program ends.
What is included
Four weekly 90-minute coached sessions; the same three-person crew; board, leash, and wetsuit; photos and pop-up videos from one session; VSG merch and a guided surf journal; private community chats; and a graduation dinner.

Pay your program fee first, then complete the November signup with your experience, goals, and availability. Once we have payment and your signup, we begin matching your crew. We’ll email your confirmed schedule after identifying a compatible group.

Your lesson supports the community. Paid lessons help us keep our monthly beginner meetups, weekly community surfs, and shared boards and wetsuits free, so you have somewhere to keep practicing after your lesson with women who are learning too.

Questions about women’s surf lessons in Ventura
Do I need any surfing experience?
No. Our lessons are built for total beginners, including women who have never paddled out. If you have surfed before and want focused help progressing, we coach that too.
Is this a women’s surf school?
Yes. Ventura Surf Girlies is women-led, our lessons are designed for women and taught by women, and everyone is welcome at the same prices. Most of the women who book have never surfed before, and many arrive without knowing anyone.
Do I need my own surfboard or wetsuit?
No. Soft-top surfboards, leashes, and wetsuits are included with every lesson, so you can try surfing before investing in your own gear.
Where do the lessons happen?

Can I come alone?
Absolutely. Book a private lesson for one-on-one coaching, or choose a matched lesson and we will pair you with two or three other women at a similar level. Creating an easy way to meet surf friends is one of the main reasons VSG exists.
What should I bring?
Bring water, sunscreen, a towel, warm layers, and a swimsuit to wear under your wetsuit. Boards, leashes, and wetsuits are provided.
